Style Day: Classic Navy Blazer Remixed
Morning y’all! Welcome to my least favorite days: a Monday after a 3 day weekend. I enjoyed my time off immensely. I wore this outfit last Thursday to work. You saw a sneak peek in my last post. Once again, I’m going to start the week out by talking about the end of a week. Summer always makes the weeks go by quicker!

I just can’t help myself. I’m going to talk about this blazer again. I don’t own an “updated” Schoolboy blazer, but I can’t help but think it’s just not quite as good as the classic schoolboy. BUT like I said, I haven’t tried the new one, so I can’t confidently say that. What I can say with confidence is that I love this jacket. I wasn’t wearing it much in the pictures because it was already 90° at 8:30 AM, but I have been carrying this blazer with me to work almost every day. Navy is one of those colors that my mom drilled into me as being a professional color. While my office doesn’t require business wear every day (read: as long as I’m not in pajamas and flip flops I’m fine), I’m still seen by patients and while I’m interviewing people (yes, still. know how to pick references people…) I want to show them that though what’s on the outside isn’t what you should be judged by, it should definitely help tell the story of who you are. A patient’s children told me Thursday that I looked like a city girl. I laughed pretty hard at that one. I told them that I spent 18 years in the city but dressing nicely is something that you can do anywhere.
LOVE that aztec printed skirt on you! It's such a fun print and color combination!
Thanks Lauren! The colors are all my favorites!
I have a navy school boy blazer that I wear with everything, it is such a favorite.
Love your printed pencil skirt, it's gorgeous!

That skirt is gorgeous!!! I'm loving it with your blazer!

Super freaking cute skirt, lady! Love it!
I think blazers are essential for anyone that works in an office during the summer! They are easy to throw over a tank/cami/tee to survive the indoor ac (and look professional) – yet you can quickly take it off when you step outside into the heat. You nailed this look!
Oh my gosh, great minds think alike, I ordered this skirt just last week from Target. I need to find a good blue blazer too, this one is great!

This skirt is gorgeous! And I don't think you can ever go wrong with a navy blazer, navy goes with just about everything!
You go girl!! 😉 You look amazing and you are seriously rocking this blazer in so many ways. (Too cheesy?)
This skirt <3 So cute!
This skirt is so fun! And I love both ways you've styled this blazer, especially with those great floral pants! 🙂

I am in love with the second outfit featuring the blazer! such fun pants!
Love the blazer! I love navy, but I don't have much of it in my closet. That has got to change! I love that you were told you look like a "city girl!"
Ooh, this skirt is fierce! I love how you styled the blazer featuring patterns on the bottom- genius and chic. 🙂
Thanks! I thought it dressed up the skirt enough for work and still let it be the star.
Haha! I know! The doc I work for sees a lot of poverty level people, so often times I get told I look fancy or something like that. Navy is my black! I have so little black now.
Thanks Caitlyn. I like it with the jeans SO much. The colors in that outfit are my favorites.
Thanks Elana! I think the blazer with the jeans is my favorite too.
Thanks! I'm glad I picked it up at Target! It was on clearance in store for like $8. Even if I only wear it this time it's worth it!
LOL! Never because I know exactly what you mean. I'm glad you like it! This blazer was one of the best decisions I ever made.
Thanks Inge! I was surprised at how much I liked it! Navy is my neutral of choice.
Great minds for sure! This is definitely something you would wear. The colors and pattern is SO you!
Thank you Kim! I appreciate your comment! That is exactly what I've been doing. It works so well for inside the office, I got another structured one. I have two knit type blazers, but I don't feel like they're quite nice enough some days.
Thanks girl!
Thank you Angela! I love the pattern so much!
Thank you Lydia. That blazer has been one of the best purchases of my entire life. The fit is fantastic. I don't know why I didn't invest in one sooner!
I love how you styled the navy blue jacket in both looks. It's such a great staple piece that can virtually go with everything. You look great!!

I love your skirt!!! And you do look professional. I remember back when I was purchasing suits/clothing for interviewing for jobs as I was graduating from college in accounting and I was told to get navy!! That was 25 years ago and it still works because your navy blazer looks very professional.
Thank you sooooo much Alissa! I appreciate you visiting my blog!
Thank you Shannon! I'm in LOVE with the colors in the pattern. All my favorites! Thank you for commenting!
Thanks for visiting and commenting Lisa! I appreciate it!
Thanks Kelsey! And thanks for visiting!
Thanks Christy! And thank you for your sweet comments on my posts. My mom is in accounting too! She has to wear business clothes all the time. I'm so thankful I can be business casual at my office.
I love this look. You're so right when I lived in the suburbs I always had people ask me why Im dressed so fancy! Now that I live in a city I never get that but that doesn't mean you can't dress nice wherever you go! I totally get you paring it with patterns in both, since its a plain blazer.
Ah! I have had a lot of trouble styling my navy blazer, for absolutely no good reason at all. I haven't, however, tried wearing it with my printed pants yet! Perhaps I'll need to give it a shot, since the look is so fantastic on you!! 🙂
You look so skinny! I honestly never would've thought to put a blazer with that fun short skirt, but it looks awesome together, and so do you!
