put these 5️⃣ places on your list to visit dur put these 5️⃣ places on your list to visit during shoulder season
What’s shoulder season? The time between major holidays and vacations. Fall shoulder season is September to November. Why travel then? It’s cheaper and less crowded. Here’s where to go:
1. Alaska: Alaskan cruises go through the first week in October or last week in September depending on the cruise line. The first full week in September usually starts the salmon migration, which is a sight to see.
2. Hawaii: Hawaii is expensive, similar to Alaska, because it’s remote. Early November is a sweet spot because it’s still warm there as most of the continental US starts to really cool down and prices fall in Hawaii with the mainland temps.
3. Europe: Specifically Italy and France. Most of Paris takes a holiday in August, so September/October is a great time to see autumn in Paris more cost effectively. Italy is still warm with the coastline open in September, but not as crowded or as expensive as in August.
4. Caribbean: All-Inclusives and Cruises drop drastically in price in September and October. Yes, these months are considered some of the most active in hurricane season. Travel Insurance is recommended for extra flexibility, but I promise, the ship won’t steer into a storm and the resorts don’t want you getting stuck there. Your safety is the top concern.
5. Japan: Yes, you’ll miss the cherry blossoms. Yes, Japan is FAR more than just cherry blossoms. Also Asia (and the majority of the rest of the world) doesn’t celebrate the US November holidays, so it’s a great time to travel outside the US. Take note of Japanese holidays as well while planning your trip.
In addition to advising you on where to go, I will assist with where to stay, unpublished prices on flights, and all the special little details you can think of.
