Budgeting Bloggers:: November Finals
Budgeting Bloggers is a linkup hosted by Fran of Franish where you recap what you purchased and spent in the past month in an effort to curate a functional closet!
With this budgeting bloggers post I get closer and closer to a year of doing this. Part of me wants to do a year round up and see how much I spent all year. The other part of me doesn’t want to see the number. Oy.
This month was a little strange. Though in the thick of my fall wardrobe, it got VERY cold towards the end of November and I veered off track just a little. I also had rewards and coupons from some retailers that were too good to not use. My hope was to shop less, but I think I shopped more since it was already so cool and I wanted to get a jump on my winter capsule. I also found a few classic additions and a wardrobe hole I had been shopping for. Here’s what I got::
1. and 2. Merino v-neck cardigan:: Orig $79.50, paid $17.99
3. Gold Star Ecru Shirt:: Orig $88, paid $10.19
4. Rib-stitch dolman sweater:: Orig $89.50, paid $25.50

Good price on the Enzo pumps đ Mine are a little taller, but they're the most comfortable heels I own. I'm a bit over budget as well, but I'm happy with everything I brought home.
Great buys, Meghan! And I can do math, but I will NEVER add up my monthly spends. NEVER I say! đ
Wow you got some really great deals this month. I keep track of my yearly total along with monthly totals all the time. It's the only way I can keep myself accountable. Did you do most of your purchases in store or online? The Lou & Grey jacket is my favorite purchases of yours this month. I love that line and wish it went on sale more often.
Why, oh why, was I not fast enough to grab that vest?! I love it all, of course. Now tell me do I need these boots too? đ
I need to start doing this! I got a lot of great Black Friday deals (online.) I was eyeing up that vest but it was out in my size by the time I got there. I scored one for $27 at Macy's instead!
That's awesome! I'm so bad at looking for less expensive dupes.
Almost exclusively in store. And I'll visit more than one J.Crew to find what I want at the price I want. Though I live an hour from my nearest J.Crew, there are 8 that are all close to that one. There have been some very good coupons recently too that I was able to use in conjunction with 40% off sale and 15% off student discount.
I can't speak for the clarks version (though I'm sure they're comfortable), but I really like my sam edelman ones. I've seen them lurk on amazon a bit.
I shop a lot in stores. I'll shop online but inevitably not like fit/color/in general in person so I'll save up all my purchases and make two trips to the city in a month and shop and make my returns. I'm very impressed with the Lou and grey jacket. It's my first purchase from the Loft in general in a very long time.
Right? The thought of that number just scares me
That's what counts! Being happy with what you got. I would have liked for these to be a little taller, but they're very office/business meeting appropriate which is why I brought them home.
You did AMAZING with your budget! You got great deals on quality pieces, those black pumps seem like a particularly outstanding score, and you managed to put money back in your wallet. I applaud you.
Chic on the Cheap
Thanks Lydia! I was very excited about the quality I got for the price, especially with all my shoes!
Waaah! Love, love, love that jacket!!
